Learning Portfolio – Mentoring programme in medicine
In the summer semester 2013, the learning portfolio was introduced to all medical students of the University of Tübingen. With the learning portfolio, students are reflecting on their acquisition and increase of competences. (Self-) reflection is a prerequisite for self-regulated, independent learning and provides a basis for lifelong learning. Only in a few professions the continuous reflection on one’s own actions and continuous education are of such crucial importance as in the medical profession. Students are supported by mentors from the fields of clinics and research.
