Transparent teaching performance
National and international mobilty of teachers requires comparability and transparency of performance within appointment and habilitation procedures (e.g. recognition of externally completed teacher trainings, professional teaching portfolios).
The German MedicalTeachingNetwork is an association of academic institutions that offer didactical training programmes to professionalize medical teachers in higher education and assess externally achieved performances for equivalence.
All Medical Faculties of Germany are represented within the German MedicalTeachingNetwork and agreed to the standards of the consensus statement on the mutual recognition of medical teacher training programmes.
The external, peer-based, structured quality assurance is coordinated by a permanent five-member review board, which is elected by the members of the MDN and affirmed by the German Association of Medical Faculties.
