Competence Network Teaching in Medicine Baden-Württemberg

The Competence Network Teaching in Medicine in Baden-Württemberg is a merger of five different competence centers. The administrative office of the competence-network was in Tübingen from July 1st, 2010 to June 30th, 2013. On July 1st, 2013 it rotated to Ulm, since October 1st, 2015 the office is located in Freiburg.

The individual competence centers which are focussing on evaluation, exams, medical internship, e-learning and medical teaching are each situated at one of the medical faculties of Baden-Württemberg. The work is coordinated, presented and controlled by the network.

Quality assurance and quality improvement of teaching and exams are responsibilities of the Competence-Network Teaching in Medicine in Baden-Württemberg. This is achieved by developing binding guidelines and the coordination of standards via joint usage of the in each case existing expertise and resources. Through certified advanced trainings and test seals for teaching as well as establishing a statewide research focus on “teaching” standards are supposed to be set which are having an effect and setting examples beyond Baden-Württemberg.
